How a Caterpillar Turns into a Butterfly

Butterflies belong to the group of animals called insects. Butterflies have four wings.

First the female butterfly lays eggs on the bottom of a leaf. Then the eggs slowly hatch. Next the caterpillar eats plants and flowers and it gets fatter and fatter. Later the caterpillar finds a very safe place and it builds a stable cocoon. Last of all he or she turns into a butterfly and dries their wings.

After the female lays their eggs the whole process starts again.

How a Caterpillar Turns into a Butterfly

Butterflies belong to the group of animals called insects. All insects have six legs and butterflies come in lots of colours, shapes and sizes.

First the female butterfly lays eggs. Then the eggs slowly hatch. Next the caterpillar eats leaves and annoys people and the caterpillar gets fatter and fatter. Later the caterpillar goes to a quiet place and makes and builds a brown cocoon. Last of all the caterpillar pushes it self out of the cocoon and turns into a beautiful, spectacular butterfly.

Butterflies live in lots of countries and have scales.

BOOK REVIEW - THE PIRATE WHO WOULDN'T WASH

Today I read a book called "The Pirate who Wouldn’t Wash". The author of the book is Michael Salmon.

This story is about Pongo and Captain Blacktooth. Pongo does not like water or soap. Everyone held their noses. The pirates didn’t like the smell of Pongo so they put him in the dark cave where the rats lived. They couldn’t stand the smell of Pongo either so they swam off. Captain Blacktooth tricked Pongo to go up a lookout called the crows nest.

Captain Blacktooth had a meeting. The next day when Pongo climbed down they put him in a bucket of soapy water. Then Pongo escaped from the pirates’ hands. He swam out. Captain Blacktooth loaded the cannons. The ship got wrecked and was on fire. Pongo swam to a

lifeboat and got in. There was a treasure chest at his feet. Boy, he was rich! He used his money to buy pigs. He didn’t mind the pigs’ smell and the pigs did not mind Pongo’s smell.

This book was a great book. It was a funny book. I really liked it. I was happy and laughing all they way through. I liked the part when Pongo jumped out of the ship when it exploded.

Today I read a book called "The Pirate who Wouldn’t Wash". The author of the book is Michael Salmon.

This story is about two pirates called Pongo and Captain Blacktooth. Pongo would not go near water and he hated soap more than water. The pirates did not like the smell of him. I know I wouldn’t. The pirates tried to keep him away but it did not work. When he walked into the ship the next day they shoved him in a barrel of water and soap. He ran around the ship but the pirates cornered him at last. The captain said, “Wash yourself or walk the plank.” BOOM! Another ship came in. SPLASH! went Pongo into the sea. Pongo swam to a nearby boat. He found some money and with that money he bought pigs– lots and lots of pigs. The pigs did not mind the smell of Pongo.

I liked this story because Pongo found something that he could do. I would like to read it again.
