Education Week's Open Night 2008 was a resounding success, thanks to the fantastic support and work of all members of our school community. The work in the classrooms and at the Art Show inspired by the dedication and professionalism of our teachers was second to none. Our children performed magnificently in all aspects of school life: dancing, singing, performing in bands and recorder groups in the classrooms and as ambassadors for the school as speakers and hosts to visitors. As I say on many occasions, the involvement of parents to maintain our programs is vital to the success of extra curricula activities. Last night, parents and conductors were there to move the bands, on and off stage and to supervise the setting up of instruments and music stands. The valuable support with costumes, make-up and stage props by parents who assist with the dance program is most valued and appreciated by all. However, the prize for resilience and courage must go to Kate, the conductor of the Training Band. While the students were under cover Kate stood in the sprinkling rain to conduct. When the heavy downpour came, the audience rushed for cover, but the students and wonderful Kate continued!  What a great example Kate was of continuing with the job, no matter what!
