SCHOOL RECORDER CONCERT |
|
The Recorder Concert was
delightful and we congratulate the participants and their
tutors Mrs Fiona Harvey and Mrs Fiona Blair for their
dedication and level of skill development. Recorders are a
wonderful way for young children to learn to read music and
for the older more competent students to explore the many
different types of recorders (and the difficult pieces that
can be played on these instruments). It was a thoroughly
enjoyable evening and parents were very proud of their
children’s performances. |

J ROCK - Homebush Sports
Centre
Over 60 students represented Hornsby North at the State Sports
Centre for the annual JRock event. The performance was sensitive,
polished and relevant to the spirit of the Olympics. The judges
recognized the performers and the parent/teacher team for
Performance Skills, Sound Track and Costume and Character.
Certificates of Excellence were presented to the students for the
above. However, the most important award of the day also went to
Hornsby North. This award, called, “The Spirit of JRock Award” is
awarded for cooperation, friendliness, valuing the work of other
competitors and sensitivity to the spirit of the event. There were
nine schools at this session and the students from other schools
voted for the winner! Congratulations JRockers and team. You
excelled in every aspect of the event. |
