BOOM, CRASH, and then some SINGING!
There was certainly a buzz in the air at the Hornsby
RSL last Monday afternoon, and Wednesday evening, when the students
from Hornsby North Public School sang and danced up a storm during
the Hornsby District Music Festival. This inspiring event showcased
the talents of students from all over the Hornsby region. Local
primary and high schools took part in the festival with specialty
choirs and a combined choir that involved 300 students from all of
the primary schools represented. Hornsby North Choir was outstanding
when led by 10 year old songstress Ellanah, the special needs
children from Clarke Road school used sign language for ‘You Raise
Me Up’. The rendition was conducted by teacher Mrs Susan Bonner.
The primary schools dance ensembles had their chance
to shine too, while the students from high schools within the area
gave solo performances with solo pianists, solo singers, bands and
an exceptional performance by the Hornsby Girls High School string
orchestra.
This event is truly an uplifting experience that
gives the opportunity for the children to be able to perform in
front of the many families and friends who attend.
The Hornsby District Music Festival is an annual
event, and has been so for over 25 years amount of years. We look
forward to next year. Thanks kids!
