On Friday August 24 Hornsby North took part in Daffodil Day activities to assist cancer research. The activity was strongly supported by students, teachers and parents and we raised a creditable $2,519.

WALK TO SCHOOL DAY

At Hornsby North, students are encouraged to maintain physical fitness.  Walking is a very good way of doing this and one day is set aside when all students are asked to walk to school rather than being driven.  On arrival they are provided with a healthy breakfast.

THE SCHOOL FETE

The School Fete was held on Saturday, March 17th.  It was a beautiful day and the fete was very successful.  Here are some photos to show what a good time everyone had.

THE SCIENCE EXPO

Each week, our Science Teacher  Mrs Jenny Garlick delivers a science program to our students -- a program that is exciting, challenging, thought provoking and one which inspires students and teachers to explore the wonders of science and how it works in our everyday lives. Last Thursday the entrants in the annual Science Expo demonstrated the depth of the program and the outstanding enthusiasm and skills so many students possess.  Congratulations to all participants and thank you to the many parents who supported their children by assisting with the entries and attending the evening and daytime demonstrations.

RELAY FOR LIFE

Hornsby Council hosted Relay for Life at Rofe Park and the Hornsby North Team was organized and led by HNPS staff-member Mrs Denise Whyte. Thank you to all who visited us on the weekend. In all HNPS raised $3840! of which $2057 came from the school's mufti day and coin line competition.

ANZAC DAY

Each year we commemorate Anzac Day with a special assembly which is conducted by the School Captains and Vice Captains.  This year our Anzac Day service was held the day  before Anzac Day on April 24th.  During the service, representatives from each class, teachers and parents lay a wreath of remembrance.
